Interview with Matteo Viganò, TSG Commercial Director
Matteo Viganò is the new Commercial Director for Textile Solutions Group (TSG) in Italy, overseeing all TSG commercial initiatives in the Italian market.
Good morning, Matteo. What has your professional journey been like, and how has it evolved in recent years following Limonta Informatica’s entry into TSG?
I have a technical background: I graduated in Industrial Design in Milan and, after my degree, I earned a Master’s in Technologies and Processes of the Textile Supply Chain at the University of Bergamo.
I started my career in a context related to communication and website development, and later joined Limonta Informatica as a developer on IT projects for textile companies.
At Limonta Informatica, a historic Italian software house that has been providing vertical solutions for the textile industry since 1988, I took on the role of Commercial Director after a few years, and later became CEO and Managing Director.
Limonta Informatica, a company my father helped to found, was born as the software factory of the Limonta Textile Group, a major and well-known player in the Italian textile landscape. Over time, it evolved by opening to the market and becoming an important reference point for SMEs in the sector.
As CEO of Limonta Informatica, I was on the front line in promoting the company’s entry into Textile Solutions Group in December 2024. It is a project I strongly believe in, and from the beginning I saw great opportunities: standing alongside a historic international industry player like Datatex gives us the chance to become market leaders.
A little over a year after joining TSG, in January 2026 I was appointed by Group leadership and took on the role of Commercial Director for the Italian market.
What are your goals today in this new role? What challenge are you facing?
The challenge is to bring together companies with strong heritage under a young brand (TSG), identifying synergy opportunities across businesses and people, and creating shared cross-selling initiatives.
We need to leverage the full breadth of the solutions offered by our different companies. If we consider Datatex, the GeaSoft division, Limonta Informatica, and our international companies (Setex and Penelope CAD), we are truly able to provide complete coverage of the IT needs of textile companies, at a level no competitor in Italy can match.
Datatex, Limonta Informatica, and Datatex’s GeaSoft division: what are the strengths of each of these companies?
Datatex, headquartered in Milan, has been the international leader since the 1980s in vertical ERP solutions for the textile industry. It offers its proprietary product, NOW, positioned at the high end of the market, with a strong installed base. In Italy, it gives the Group a global view that we otherwise would not have.
Limonta Informatica, based in Garbagnate Monastero near Lecco, brings specific strengths that other Group companies historically did not have. In particular, it has extensive experience in Managed Services, and in recent years it has invested significant effort in building knowledge and expertise in the web domain, always in service of textile companies.
GeaSoft, a Datatex division based in Lucca, Tuscany, offers a high level of specialization in other sectors connected to Fashion, especially leather goods and footwear manufacturing, enriching the Group’s offering with high-quality vertical solutions.
